Bitdeer Technologies Group on Tuesday launched its Sealminer A4 series, with the flagship hydro-cooling model setting a new industry record for power efficiency at 9.45 joules per terahash.

"The Sealminer A4 series represents a significant leap forward in mining technology," a Bitdeer spokesperson said in the announcement.

The launch, which took place on April 7, 2026, introduces a new line of machines that could improve profit margins for miners who can access the new technology. The 9.45 J/TH efficiency surpasses most existing models offered by major competitors.

This advancement is expected to accelerate the obsolescence of older, less efficient mining hardware. The increased efficiency may lead to a higher network hashrate and mining difficulty, putting pressure on competitors like MicroBT and Bitmain to match the new performance benchmark.

The introduction of the Sealminer A4 series comes as the Bitcoin network's hashrate continues to climb, demanding more efficient hardware for miners to remain profitable. By pushing the efficiency frontier, Bitdeer is positioning itself to capture a larger share of the hardware market. Miners adopting the new rigs could see a notable reduction in operational expenditures, a critical factor in an environment of rising energy costs and increasing network competition.
